During the final conflict, the Overmind did not attempt to manipulate Sarah Kerrigan, as she was already infested and serving as the Queen of Blades. However, Tassadar recognized the true nature of the trap and devised a countermeasure. In a moment of supreme sacrifice, he channeled the combined energies of the Khala and the Void through his flagship, the Gantrithor, into the Overmind, destroying it in a kamikaze strike. The Overmind underestimated the resolve of those fighting for survival over evolution. Its destruction proved that even an omnipresent hive mind could be killed if its physical anchor was reached.
