The final confrontation began when Sarah Kerrigan, having first become a Primal Zerg on Zerus and later absorbing the Overmind's essence to gain control of the Swarm, used the Keystone to enter the Void alongside the Spear of Adun and combined forces. There, they destroyed Amon's physical form, and Kerrigan ultimately survived the battle, later ascending to become a Xel'Naga and sacrificing her mortal form only after the Void was sealed. Artanis led the Protoss fleet, while Jim Raynor was not directly part of the final Void battle. The Void was cleansed of Amon's corruption by Kerrigan's actions.
